“Talam aims to use clean and sustainable ways to make the world better and people healthier. We are using nature to find sustainable ways to solve problems like reducing the amount of heavy metal that crops can take up from the soil.”
As a science associate at Talam, Meng is tapping into her experience in food microbiology and product formulation in the dairy industry to help the company develop commercially available formulations for its lead microbe strains. The formulations focus on microbes that have been tested for good viability and shelf stability so farmers know they can have a product that is as easy to handle and store as it is effective. Meng is currently testing product stability, which she is particularly excited about because she knows it means the product could be in farm fields across the world soon.
