“The symbiosis that occurs between plants and microbes is truly fascinating. I love teasing apart the intricacies of those relationships and applying them to contemporary problems that can benefit us all.”
Coming from a horticultural background, Ciarán quickly learned the importance and effects microbial communities could have on plants. His PhD and postdoctoral work allowed him to deep dive into just how complex these relationships can be. From isolation all the way through to field scale applications, his favourite part of his work at Talam is seeing theoretical potential realised in applied, real-world scenarios.
